Join The Education Revolution

A 21st Century, One-Room Schoolhouse, where children are challenged to think critically, develop moral character, and master learning.

Acton Academy is Nationally Accredited by the International Association of Learner Driven Schools

Private School in PA

Our Learner Driven Communities are run mostly by the children, where closely connected families of lifelong learners are bound by clear convenants; and "Learning to Do" and "Learning to Be" are even more important than "Learning to Know".
LEARN TO LEARN
Self-paced learning meets Socratic discussions. Instilling curiosity and individual thought through authentic experiences and open conversations.
LEARN TO DO
Meaningful group quests meet entrepreneurship. Venturing through science, the arts, and real-world experiences gaining crucial life skills.
LEARN TO BE
Freedom to make mistakes meets natural consequences. Making personal choices with the absence of manipulation and coercion. Processing and responding to outcomes, leading to true moral character.
School, As We Know It, Was Designed in 1893
Our school was born different. Acton Academy is one of the newest, most innovative (and downright coolest) school designs in the world. Each Acton school was founded by parents who believe there is a better way to educate their children and help other like-minded families in their community.
Our Philosophy of Learning
We believe that:
Clear thinking leads to good decisions,
Good decisions lead to the right habits,
The right habits lead to character,
And character determines destiny.
